Athletics

Believing that physical exercise is important and that athletic competition is a way for students to develop skill and character WACS offers athletic tournaments in five sports and two levels. In the fall high school tournaments are held in boy’s soccer and girl’s volleyball. In the winter tournaments are held for both girl’s and boy’s basketball. Junior high tournaments are held in girl’s volleyball as well as boy’s basketball. The high school tournaments are hosted by Maranatha Baptist Bible College (Watertown) and Northland International University (Dunbar).

If you would like to contact any of our WACS individual athletic directors, a directory is available by clicking here.

Registration

All schools interested in being part of the Fall 2013 WACS soccer and volleyball conferences, should contact the WACS office by April 30, 2013. Those interested in participating in the 2013-2014 girls and boys basketball conferences need to sign up by October 15, 2013.

We will be utilizing this website for athletics again this year. Please contact Randy Tanis with questions.

Concussion Awareness Information

Private schools offering youth sports this fall are required to provide concussion/head injury information to all athletes under age 19, their parents, and the coaching staffs and volunteers involved in the sport.  Permission forms acknowledging receipt of the information are required prior to participation in practice or games.  For more information, including sample information sheets and permission forms, visit  the WCRIS website.  In addition, links to a brief video prepared by the WIAA and a sideline assessment tool for your coaches are also available.
