National Creative Writing Contest

An annual competition for WACS elementary and junior high students to develop and showcase their creative writing skills as they compete with students from across the nation.

Encouraging and Developing Student Creativity

The National Creative Writing Contest offers WACS schools and students the opportunity to practice and enhance their God-given creative writing talents.

This contest is for elementary (Grades 4-6) and junior high (Grades 7-8) students, and participants may submit a short-story or poetry entry. All submissions must be entered to the WACS office by Monday, December 11, 2023.

Contest Rules & Topics

Elementary (Grades 4-6) and junior high (Grades 7-8) students may enter this contest. Participants may only enter one of the contest categories, either short-story or poetry.

Each school should have an in-house competition and send only the winning piece in each category to the WACS office.

The original work must be sent to the WACS office by Monday, December 11, 2023. The original submission must be free of any markings.
